We have all heard the saying "it takes a village". Well if I have learned one thing from being a doctor and a mom, it is that SUPPORT is key. Finding your support early on can make all the difference! Oh, and to also never take alone time for granted ever again.
You wish someone would see how hard you're trying and yet still feel like you're getting nowhere?
You want someone who respects those decisions, even if they don't align with their beliefs.
You never leave your doctor's office feeling heard or understood.
You want someone to help educate you, so you feel more informed to make all the hard decisions.
You know the child always asking "but why?" after everything you say? Well, that was me and I couldn't seem to let it go. However, being a parent was NOT what I expected. After getting married and having a child, I realized parenting is so much more complicated than I ever imagined. And now there are 3 of them, and it's even messier.
You don't seem to forget your first doctor's visit after becoming a Mom. Expectations of the years to come were quickly adjusted. Even with all the knowledge I had gained through years of training, as a Mom, I felt overwhelmed, frustrated, pushed around, misunderstood, ignored, exhausted, and alone.
It was after this experience that I knew my mission was to help other mother's never feel this way. You deserve to feel informed, heard, supported, and empowered as a Mother.

Coffee is my current life force. I have 3 children... can you blame me?
The day my son was born was not as I had planned to say the least! In one quick blur, I was rushed away from my husband and into an operating room for a crash cesarean under general anesthesia. I remember waking up, staring at my husband holding our baby boy. There were so many emotions: anxiety, fear, anger, sadness, confusion, and joy; all while my son stared up at us, completely dependent on me and my husband.
As a new mom, I had an infinite number of concerns and questions. Our rushed pediatric appointments were not helpful or reassuring. I often left those appointments feeling unheard, confused, and lacking direction. As I progressed through naturopathic medical school I carried these experiences with me as I developed my “patient first” application of providing evidence-based medicine to improve the health of my patients.
My mission as a licensed naturopathic physician is to be a parent’s resource and teacher; their child’s guide and example, seeing the whole person. I am committed to compassionately listening to and empowering each family to choose and embrace the health of their entire family.
